Kelly Stewart was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American at Shippensburg University. While a member of the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project team she ran a personal best half marathon of 1:20:24 at the 2007 Disney Half Marathon. After failing to qualify for the Olympic Trials at the 2007 Boston Marathon, Stewart rebounded with a 15-minute PR to win the Columbus Marathon in 2:43:28. The 2008 Olympic Trials will be her first.

Stewart graduated from Shippensburg University with a BA in psychology.
