After graduating from Bucknell University in 2000 as a two-time Patriot League 10,000m champion, Graytock began to focus on the 2004 Olympic Team Trials-Women's Marathon, ultimately qualifying at the 2003 Grandma’s Marathon with a time of 2:47:17. However, Graytock’s run for a spot on the 2004 U.S. Olympic team was stopped when she was diagnosed with ulcers in her stomach and a blood clot which had reached her lungs. Although she was unable to train for several weeks, she slowly began cross training and building up her mileage and by the end of 2004 she was competing in half marathons. In 2005, Graytock was the third American woman at the Boston Marathon, finishing with a time of 2:44:02.In the fall of 2005, Graytock placed fifth in the Twin Cities Marathon 10-miler and placed 11th at the 2005 USA 20K Championships.Graytock qualified for the 2008 Olympic Team Trials at the 2006 Boston Marathon where she was the 18th female finisher, in a time of 2:43:19.
Graytock graduated from Bucknell with a degree in biochemistry in 2000. She now resides in Cambridge, MA, where she works as an analytical research associate at ImmunoGen, Inc.
