Stich Zimmerman attended Ripon College in Wisconsin where she was a 13-time Midwest Conference champion and a three-time NCAA Academic All-American. In 1991 she was named NCAA Wisconsin Woman of the Year. Among her many strong marathon performances are victories at Cowtown (1995, 1998, 1999), White Rock (1999), and Marine Corps (2001). She posted her PR (2:38:44) in the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team Trials-Women's Marathon. Stich-Zimmerman recently relocated to Michigan where she joined the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project to prepare for the Olympic Trials.
In 1996 Stich Zimmerman backpacked around the world. She has also continued to be involved in music, performing at numerous weddings, directing a church choir, and in 2004 she sang at Carnegie Hall.
